Denene M. Harper

Denene M. Harper is the director of coding and classification content at the American Hospital Association (AHA) and executive editor of Coding Clinic for ICD-10-CM/PCS and Coding Clinic for HCPCS. She represents the AHA as a member of the Cooperating Parties, four organizations that develop the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. Ms. Harper has 30 years of experience at the AHA Central Office with an interest in ensuring that clinical data is reported consistently across all healthcare settings. She graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management and has RHIA certification.
