Tammy Love

Tammy Love brings more than 30 years of experience in health information management (HIM), ICD‑10 and CPT coding, auditing, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), and regulatory compliance. She currently serves as Director of Coding Classification and Policy at the American Hospital Association (AHA), where she facilitates national discussions among HIM, coding, and CDI experts to support development of industry comments on the annual Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule.

In her role, Tammy works closely with the AHA Central Office Coding and Policy teams on complex regulatory and coding issues and facilitates the Coding Clinic Editorial Advisory Boards for HCPCS and ICD‑10‑CM/PCS. She also serves as the AHA coding subject matter expert and representative on the American Medical Associations CPT Assistant Editorial Board and CPT Editorial Panel.

Tammy holds a Master of Science in Health Informatics and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and is a nationally recognized resource on inpatient coding policy and regulatory interpretation.
